Since the end of the 18th century, and for a long time, orchards (mainly citrus) were the symbol of Israeli agriculture and the name Jaffa oranges were widely known and enjoyed.
More recently Orchards of all types of fruit have been established and apple, cherry and mango as well as numerous other fruits are grown especially in the Galilee and north of the country.
